The total export cargos of 16,133 tonnes comprised of 15,601 tonnes of containerised cargo and 532 tonnes of rice.
As many as 6,723 containers comprising of 1,432 containers import and 2,277 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,432 of 20's and 1,501 of 40's loaded while 10 of 20's and 01 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 395 of 20's and 550 of 40's loaded containers while 320 of 20's and 550 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There was one ship namely APL Minnesota carrying containers sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. YM Plum, Hakone Galaxy, Allise P and Ever Union carrying containers and tankers respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 197,284 tonnes comprising 167,797 tonnes of import cargo and 29,487 tonnes of export cargo including 4,734 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 167,797 tonnes includes 77,482 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,110 tonnes of palm oil; 64,000 tonnes of coal; 15,321 tonnes of soya bean seeds; 1,600 tonnes of LPG and 284 tonnes of Project cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,487 tonnes includes 12,464 tonnes of containerised cargo and 17,023 tonnes of diesel oil.
As many as 4,734 containers comprising of 4,078TEUsimportsand 656TEUs exports were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
A container vessel MSC Elas 3 sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning and four more ships Bulk Pegasus, Lila, Gas Amazon and Chipo Brok Pacific are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, condensate, coal, soya bean seeds, Project Cargo LPG, palm kernel and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eighteen ships namely MOL Courage, MOL Gateway, Venture Dylon, GNG Concord, Vita Ocean, Belita, Globe Trotter, Li Etta, Alani, Pacific Activity, Balti Light, Greenwich Eagle, King Craft, SC Erocco, UACC Muhanaar, NCC Noor Chemical Hope and Maritime Venessa carrying containers, cement, soya bean, coal, LPG, Diesel Oil and Palm Oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. MOL Gateway, Venture Dylan and Alani scheduled to load/off load containers 4,092 tones cement and 59,257 tonnes coal are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-2 and PIBT respectively on Wednesday on 16th January. While three more container ships MOL Courage, MMSC Mirelia and Hugo Schulfe are due to arrive on Port Qasim on Thursday, 17th January 2019.
